The slowness just shows how blissfully unaware Hideo and others were about what was really happening. We have a slow start, just observing Hideo's daily life, whether its his work or seeing his girlfriend, so I understand how after a while people can get put off the series when it feels like it'll nothing but a weak slice of life.
》Now, I can't remember where but I had read that it takes a bit for this manga to kick it, and if you've tried it and thought it was kinda lame at least try up to chapter 15.
